LEGAL

TERMS

These terms cover what you agree to when you use rmba to discover events and buy tickets, and what we are — and are not — responsible for. They are written to describe how the platform actually works rather than to cover every eventuality, so where the product does something unusual, it is said plainly below.

1. Who we are, and who these terms bind

rmba is a ticketing platform operated by T8 Technology Solutions Limited (registration no. 80976033), a company incorporated in Hong Kong. In these terms "we" and "rmba" mean that company, and "you" means anyone using the site.

Three parties appear throughout, and keeping them apart is the point of most of what follows:

  • Buyer — a person who buys a ticket through rmba.
  • Organizer — the person or business putting on an event and selling tickets for it through rmba. The organizer, not rmba, runs the event.
  • rmba — the platform the sale happens on. We sell tickets as the organizer's agent; we do not promote, produce, staff or host events.

Because we sell as agent, you end up with two separate agreements and it is worth being clear about which is which. Your agreement to attend the event is with the organizer, and they answer for the event itself. Your agreement to use rmba — this document — is with us, and we answer for the platform.

By buying a ticket or using the site you accept these terms. You must be at least 18 to create an account or buy a ticket.

rmba is directed at buyers in Hong Kong. We do not target the service at people in the European Union, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, and events listed here may be subject to rules in the country they take place in.

2. Buying a ticket

Selecting tickets places a temporary hold on them while you pay. A hold lasts ten minutes and is released automatically if you do not complete payment — the tickets go back on sale and nothing is charged. You can hold tickets for at most three purchases at once.

The price you see before you pay is the price you are charged. It is made up of the ticket price the organizer set, plus a booking fee where one applies, plus any taxes. Each is shown separately before you confirm.

Card details are handled by our payment providers and never reach rmba's own systems. A sale is final when the payment provider confirms it, not when your browser says so — if the two ever disagree, the provider is what we go by.

We may limit or refuse a purchase where we believe a listing is being bought up automatically, resold against the organizer's rules, or paid for fraudulently.

3. Fees

Two separate fees exist and they behave differently. Only one of them is ever charged to you.

  • The booking fee is added to the ticket price and shown to you before you pay. It is set per event, and it may be zero — many events carry no booking fee at all.
  • The organizer fee is deducted from what we pass on to the organizer. It is never added to your total and you will not see it, because you do not pay it.

The rate that applies to your order is fixed at the moment you pay. If the rate for an event changes afterwards, your completed order is unaffected.

4. Refunds — please read this one

Tickets are not refundable because you change your mind, because your plans change, or because you cannot attend. Treat every purchase as final at the moment it completes.

If an event is cancelled, rescheduled or materially changed, the decision on refunds is the organizer's — they run the event and they hold the proceeds. Where an organizer instructs a refund we will process it back to the payment method you used. We cannot compel an organizer to offer one, and we do not decide it for them.

Some organizers offer more than this. Where an organizer has published their own terms for an event — a cancellation window, an exchange, a resale rule — those terms appear on the event page and they apply to your purchase in addition to this section. Read them before you buy; they are the organizer's promise, not ours.

You should also know how little machinery sits behind this. rmba has no automated refund or cancellation function: a refund is something a person performs through the payment provider on the organizer's instruction. That is why we describe what we will do rather than promise a turnaround.

Nothing in this section takes away rights you have under Hong Kong law that cannot be excluded by agreement. Where such a right applies, it prevails over anything said above.

An organizer can remove an event from rmba only before anyone has bought a ticket for it. Once a single ticket is sold, the listing stays.

5. Your ticket, and what it actually is

A ticket is a signed code. Whatever you are looking at — the ticket page in your account, a link from the confirmation email, a PDF, a screenshot — is only a container for that one code, and the door cannot tell those containers apart.

Two consequences follow, and both are yours to manage:

  • Anyone holding the code can use it. It does not expire, and it is not tied to your name at the gate. Forwarding your confirmation email hands over the ticket.
  • The code admits once. The first scan is the one that gets in; a second presentation of the same code is refused, whoever is holding it.

Because of that, we cannot help if a ticket is used by someone you shared it with, and we cannot reissue a ticket on the basis that it was copied. Sharing the code is transferring the ticket.

Whether tickets may be transferred or resold at all is the organizer's rule, not ours, and some events prohibit it.

6. At the door

Admission is the organizer's decision. They set age limits, ID requirements, dress and conduct rules, and they may refuse entry under them. A valid ticket is not a guarantee of admission, and a refusal at the door is not something rmba can overturn or refund.

At some events the door is run by the organizer or a partner rather than by rmba. Where that is the case we hand over an attendee list so the gate can admit you — see the privacy policy for exactly what is in it.

Complimentary tickets, where an organizer issues them, are ordinary tickets in every respect covered here.

7. Accounts, including the one we may create for you

You can buy without signing up first. When you do, we create an account for you from the email address you gave at checkout, so that your tickets have somewhere to live and so you can find them again. By checking out as a guest you agree to us creating that account on your behalf.

That account starts with no password. We email you a link to claim it, which sets one and hands you the order history already attached. Until you claim it, the link in your email is the way in — treat it like a password.

If the email you use at checkout already belongs to a registered account, the order attaches to that account and we leave the account itself untouched.

Keep your details accurate and your access to your own credentials. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account.

8. If you are an organizer

You are responsible for the event: that it happens as described, that the listing is accurate, that you hold the licences, permissions and insurance it needs, and that you meet the safety, accessibility and age rules that apply where it takes place.

You are the buyer's counterparty for anything about the event itself, including cancellation and any refund you decide to offer. We sell as your agent; the contract to attend is yours.

Where you publish your own terms for an event, they are shown to buyers on the event page and form part of what the buyer agrees to. Keep them accurate and consistent with these terms — where the two conflict on something that is ours to decide, such as how the platform charges, these terms govern.

You keep the rights to what you upload, and you give us permission to display it on rmba and use it to promote the event. You confirm you are entitled to grant that — most obviously for artwork, photographs and video you did not make yourself.

We deduct the organizer fee from ticket proceeds and settle the balance to you. Settlement is arranged with you directly rather than run on a fixed schedule by the platform: rmba does not operate automated payouts, and the timing and method are whatever we have agreed with you in writing.

You indemnify us against claims arising from your event or your listing.

9. The service itself

We work to keep rmba available and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change, suspend or withdraw features. Pricing and availability shown on the site can be wrong; where a listing is obviously mispriced we may cancel the order and return what was paid.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms, to defraud buyers or organizers, or to attack the service.

Everything on rmba that is not the organizer's content is ours, and you may not copy, scrape or resell it.

10. Liability

We are responsible for running the ticketing platform. We are not responsible for the events themselves — what happens at them, whether they take place, or how an organizer behaves — and our liability to you is limited to what you paid us for the order in question.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

We are not liable for failures outside our reasonable control, including venue closures, weather, transport, industrial action, network and payment-provider outages, and government action.

11. Changes, disputes and governing law

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and the version in force when you bought a ticket is the one that governs that purchase.

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of rmba, are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong. Non-exclusive means neither of us is barred from bringing a claim somewhere it properly belongs — and for most ticket-sized disputes the Hong Kong Small Claims Tribunal is the cheaper and faster route for a buyer than anything we could require instead.

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms, an order, or a ticket: reach us through the support page and we will answer directly.

Formal notices to us may be given by email to support@rmba.io, addressed to T8 Technology Solutions Limited, and are treated as served when sent. Our registered office address is on the public register at the Companies Registry in Hong Kong if you need to serve documents there instead.
